Ronaldo scored a hat-trick to send Real Madrid through to the Champions League semi-finals.

Arturo Vidal called Bayern Munich's 4-2 second-leg loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals a "robbery" at the hands of referee Viktor Kassai, while adding it was the official, not Zinedine Zidane's team who had eliminated the Bundesliga leaders.

However, a diving header from Ronaldo with 14 minutes left looked to have been enough to send the Spanish side through, only for weird own goal from Real captain Sergio Ramos to levelled things up at 3-3 overall.

Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti was very critical of Kassai's performance, saying that UEFA must introduce video assistant technology to avoid such crucial mistakes in huge games.

"The referee's task is quite hard, whether it's for or against us I won't get into it", said Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.

He said: "I hope that really soon in the future the referee can be helped by TV". You have to take the positives.

He said: 'Their second goal was offside too. But we scored six goals so we deserved to go through.

"We showed courage and badly wanted to win, but we didn't have any luck with the refereeing decisions", Lahm said.

David Moyes: 'fans deserve to take their frustrations out on somebody'
He said: "I've not had chance to think about myself and how I'm feeling". I thought we played well today. "I carry a bit (of weight) as well".

Real made their numerical advantage count as Ronaldo grabbed his second of the match in the 105th minute - which saw the forward become the first player to score 100 Champions League goals - although he looked to have been offside.

"Maybe they will not whistle him anymore now", Zidane said with a smile. I know that this is football and sometimes it can happen.

"And the fans will always appreciate him for all he has done here". It happens and stays at that.

"The fans have been important in helping the team". Cristiano answers on the pitch, and he scored three goals, five in two games, what else can I say. In the key games, he's always there.

Bayern, the 2013 Champions League victor, had made it at least to the semifinals for the last five seasons.

"They showed that they are an excellent team, but Madrid are Madrid". We will see who we get on Friday and we will have to fight, battle until the end over two games.

Toni Kroos and right-back Dani Carvajal have picked up fitness problems which meant both were now injury doubts for Saturday's La Liga Clasico on Sunday at home to Barcelona.

"That is normal, we have played 120 minutes", Zidane said when asked about their condition.
