Let's just say it could have been worse Tuesday, a lot worse, when the Mariners' four-game winning streak came to an end in a 5-0 loss to the Miami Marlins at Safeco Field.

Third baseman Kyle Seager almost matched his teammate, driving in four runs on two hits and a bases-loaded walk, as the Mariners used a hit and walk-laden assault on Miami pitching. Mitch Haniger leads the Mariners with 16 hits and 11 RBI while Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz have combined for 25 hits and 19 RBI.

Despite giving up four runs and 12 hits, Hernandez kept his pitch count down and was able to work into the seventh inning.

In his first two starts this season, Chen allowed seven hits in each start.

The solo shot came on the first pitch of the ninth inning off Mariners reliever Evan Marshall. The win also represented Miami's fourth in its last five games dating back to Friday's 3-2 triumph over the New York Mets.

Brad Ziegler relieved him in the eighth, extending the team's no-hit bid another inning.

It got better after that. While the Marlins had a number of broken-bat singles or slow rollers that found holes in the infield, Gallardo did leave a slider hanging that Bour hit for an opposite-field home run.

North Korea unveils new missiles during military parade
An official from South Korea's Defence Ministry could not immediately confirm whether any of them represented a new type of ICBM. Pacific Command said in a statement that Sunday's missile exploded on launch.

"He deserves everything he gets", Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "It's his decision to make", Chen said through a translator. "He's been healthy, but I'm not gonna have him go to 130".

There was no no-no, but there was a win - a well-rounded win in which the offense scored early and plenty, the starting pitching was excellent, and the bullpen held it down. Suzuki got the start in right field and had two hits.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Heredia saved three runs by pulling back a homer with a leaping two-out catch at the left-field wall on Ozuna's drive in the first inning.

Ichiro was quoted in theMiami Herald saying, "It's been so long that I could've been forgotten", Ichiro said". But with Segura sidelined by a hamstring strain, Haniger has starred.

Miami (8-7) and will have a travel day before beginning a weekend series against the Padres in San Diego. Yovani Gallardo gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA and six strikeouts this season.

Was his 13th career start of 6.0+ innings and 0 walks (last: 8/11/14 at CHC w/MIL).
