Buhari leaves for London for a medical treatment

Buhari's ailment is not publicly known, but he has made reference to blood transfusions and said he had not been so sick in decades.

President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to London on Sunday night for an indefinite medical follow-up.

Daily Trust said the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari, early yesterday met behind closed-doors with service chiefs over the Boko Haram insurgency.

Sources tell Naija247news that Nigeria President Buhari was billed to travel to the United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 10th and three medical personnel had been brought in to Abuja to prepare him adequately for the trip.

President Muhammadu Buhari is to proceed to London on Sunday night for follow-up medical consultation with his doctors.

He has empowered Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to preside over government businesses in his absence.

Presidency spokesman Femi Adesina said the 74-year-old doctors would determine how long he stayed in the British capital, where he spent almost two months undergoing treatment from mid-January.
