Mourinho also accepted that the club's season will be judged a failure if they do not beat Ajax in the Europa League final on May 24.

Slovenian Damir Skomina, an official Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho once labelled "weak and naive", will referee the Europa League Final.

Ajax secured a place in the Europa League Semis despite a 3-1 loss to Lyon, having won 4-1 in the first leg at home (5-4 on aggregate).

The Argentine is backup to David de Gea but has still made 16 starts this season, conceding just six goals - and will play in Europa League final. United are now in sixth place on the Premier League table, which puts an added pressure on them grinding out a victory in the Europa League decider.

"We go there and try to win because I think playing this kind of game is always special, always a good feeling".

"I don't feel like that".

"I think when the result is 0-0 and such a penalty is not given it's a crucial moment of the game".

"I say always that I work hard from the first day of the season to be ready when the manager gives me a possibility".

The Portuguese guided his team to a record 25-game unbeaten run in the Premier League before it was ended by Arsenal on Sunday to dent their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

The England global will miss the first three games of next season's Champions League campaign as a result.

"It's fair that Sergio is going to play the final and David accepts".

But they could not find an all-important fourth to send the tie into extra-time.

United goalkeeper Sergio Romero needed to stretch to turn an early shot from Iago Aspas over the bar and after Fellaini's goal they tried to put the game to bed. "If everything goes normal and we have no problems, Sergio plays", Mourinho said.

"We are speaking about the Argentina national goalkeeper and the Spain national goalkeeper".

"It means an opportunity to end the season in the flawless way because the final is the last match of the season". I don't think the board feels like that. "I didn't see it".
