'Wonder Woman' Director Talks About How Much the Character Means to Her

Gal Gadot has taken to Twitter to reveal a new poster for Wonder Woman featuring her as the title hero with her trademark Lasso of Truth. "I'm excited for her to come to America and become the Wonder Woman we are all familiar with from having grown up around her as an American superhero", she said.

Not only has the studio been flooding fans with a slew of Wonder Woman TV spots and teasers, it's also been showing off new photos from the film.

A couple months ago, New York Times' Rachel Weingarten wrote a story about how she went to a local movie theater and overhead a group of elderly women - going to see Fences - talking about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. More than 2,000 comic-book shops, libraries and bookstores across the nation will participate in the Saturday extravaganza. Apart from DC's partnership with Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco, and Amazon, which will offer exclusive in-store and digital promotions, Warner Bros. The superhero has been fighting injustice for literal decades now, becoming a symbol of female strength for generations of young women.

The first movie is set to be released on May 30, but Snyder made it clear that Wonder Woman 2 wouldn't be released for a while yet, as the production company is focusing on the imminent release of Batgirl.
