Since she arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last weekend in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit, the First Lady has stuck to a relatively muted palette with a few pops of color, like the raspberry Reem Acra she wore to dinner on Saturday.

The burst of color in the US first lady's wardrobe came after a steady dose of mostly black during President Donald Trump's inaugural overseas tour, including a prim black lace dress with a matching mantilla headcover that she wore to meet Pope Francis, and a dark jacket with golden detailing on the cuff and collar that she wore for her arrival in Italy.

The coat, worn over a simple beige dress, sells for only $5,000 less than the median USA household income in 2015. Contrary to some American designers who have been very vocal about not wanting to dress the First Lady (regardless if they have been given the choice), Gabbana thanked the First Lady, describing her as a "DG Woman" via Instagram earlier this year.

She also arrived at Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport Tuesday afternoon in a Dolce & Gabbana button-front coat with gold brocade on a fluted neck collar and at the wrists.

Some neighbors stepped up and described the family as having acted "strangely" in the days before the attack. British police said the suspect they arrested on Wednesday, was carrying a package which was being examined.

Neither Dolce & Gabbana nor the White House have responded to ABC News' request for comment. While the government does provide first ladies with a wardrobe allowance, it was unclear if the outfit was bought or borrowed. Trump has proposed a $4.1 trillion spending plan that slashes safety net programs for the poor, including food stamps and Medicaid, while spending billions more on the military and protecting retirement programs for the elderly.

Melania wore the coat sightseeing as her husband, President Donald Trump, met with world leaders at the G7 Summit, according to CNN. She lives mostly at their penthouse at Trump Tower in NY with their 11-year-old son.
