Gal Gadot easily leads the cast as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Gadot makes the character amusing, engaged and engaging, and although it would be easy for Gadot to make the humour in the film feel cheap, tacky or at her character's expense, there is a careful balance created with the character that never makes her the butt of the joke, but also allows her sincerity to be acceptable. Lebanon's ministry of economy says it has asked the country's security agency to ban the movie because its lead actress, Gal Gadot, is an Israeli.

A security official told AP that a recommendation from a six-ministry-member committee would be required for the ban to be enacted. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Nonetheless, movie posters prominently featuring the former Miss Israel have been displayed in Beirut, and at least one cinema in the Lebanese capital is scheduled to hold an advanced premier of the film.

Lebanon is now at war with Israel, and has a law which boycotts Israeli products as well as barring Lebanese citizens from travelling to Israel or making contact with Israeli citizens.

Most impressive are the updates to Safari, which may finally make holdouts using Chrome and Firefox to make the switch. If you're looking exclusively for a machine to run your new HTC Vive, the iMac Pro may not be the best place to play.

Gadot was born in Israel and served in the Israeli Defense Forces as a combat trainer as part of the mandatory military service all Israeli citizens participate in. The post sent prayers to Israeli soldiers "who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas". The film was shown in Lebanese cinemas, however.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Wonder Woman is "the smart, satisfying DC movie you've been waiting for", while Variety says that Gadot and director Patty Jenkins "breathe some fresh air" into the DC Universe.

The Israeli actress has also appeared in reprisals of the Fast and Furious, none of which were banned in Lebanon. But it's also the latest attempt to jump-start the DCEU, which has been struggling - in critical terms, at least - since 2013's Man of Steel, and floundered particularly badly a year ago with maulings for both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. The movie is still set to open as scheduled in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

That was when the Lebanese campaign against Gadot's movies began, as the same campaigners sought to bar Batman Vs Superman.
