The U.S. and China have finally reached an agreement on commercial shipments of beef according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The lifting of the ban comes after China agreed to negotiate reopening the country to US beef. Perdue said, "Today is a great day for the United States and in particular for our cattle producers, who will be regaining access to an enormous market with an ever-expanding middle class".

The beef also has to be derived from cattle less than 30 months old and traceable to the US birth farm or first place of residence or port of entry.

The beef also must come from cattle 30 months of age or younger.

Chilled or frozen bone-in and deboned beef products are eligible for shipment.

The full export verification requirements are posted on the USDA's website and outline what it will take for packers to apply for export approval into China.
