Manhunt underway for inmates accused of killing 2 prison guards

"They murdered two correctional officers", the sheriff said.

A spokeswoman for the corrections department identified the two guards as Christopher Monica, 42, who was hired in 2009, and Curtis Billue, 58, who was hired in 2007.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Stills announced that there would be a $90,000 reward for the arrest of both of the men.

Sills said the public's help in locating both vehicles is crucial.

Both escapees are considered by authorities to be armed with 9mm handguns, the ones taken from the corrections officers after they were shot to death on the bus.

The stolen Honda Civic was recovered near the scene of the house burglary on Wednesday afternoo. It turned up near a Madison, Ga. home where police say Dubose and Rowe dumped their prison whites and stole clothes.

"My biggest worry is they're going to kill somebody else", Sills said.

The reward for information leading to their arrest grew Wednesday to $115,000, contributed by multiple agencies.

Authorities confirm one of the escaped prisoners has ties to the "Ghostface Gangsters". Both men are said to be highly unsafe.
