Timberwolves Announce Summer League Preliminary Round Schedule

The NBA unveiled the schedule for the summer leagues in Utah and Las Vegas next month.

In what has become an annual summer spectacle, the first half of July attracts a healthy audience of Lakers' supporters to the middle of the desert for a showcase of the NBA's future stars. The Kings take on the Memphis Grizzlies July 9 and the Los Angeles Lakers July 10 before tournament play begins July 12 to determine the summer league champion.

While no official roster has been released for Summer League, it's likely that current Lakers Brandon Ingram, David Nwaba and Ivica Zubac will all play this season. Pacific Time at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV.

Southern Baptist Convention in Uproar Over 'Alt-Right'
Tensions over the US presidential election were on display Tuesday at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention. In response to the uproar, Southern Baptist leaders said they would take up the resolution Wednesday afternoon.

This year, the showdown will feature the storied rivalry of the Lakers and Celtics with Boston holding the No. 1 pick. Minnesota also owns the No. 7 pick in the June 22 NBA Draft. It's open seating, so fans would be wise to arrive early for this game.

The Timberwolves are one of 24 teams to have a squad at the NBA Summer League, which goes from July 7-17.

After the Friday and Saturday games, the Lakers will have Sunday off with a late 7:30 p.m.
