Mexican global Carlos Pena is also in line to join Rangers after flying into Glasgow at the start of the month.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha's summer rebuilding is gathering pace with a hat-trick of transfer targets expected in Glasgow on Monday to undergo medicals with the Ibrox club.

Dalcio, meanwhile, will be arriving at the Ibrox Stadium on a season long loan deal.

Dalcio is a 21-year-old Benfica forward but has yet to play for the first team, although he has top-team experience with Belenenses.

Herrera arrived on a flight from Cardiff at 9.15pm after attending the Champions League final. The 29-year-old Portuguese winger is now on loan at Turkish side Alanyaspor. The 28-year-old has nine caps but all but one was won in 2015, which means Rangers would need to win a work permit appeal to complete his signing.

"I think we have all the points together to get the best from Ryan and to get the best from all the players that are coming", the Portuguese coach told the Rangers website.

Jack became Rangers' second summer signing with Portugal global veteran Bruno Alves announced a day earlier on Wednesday.
