Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, European champions Portugal arrived at Kazan's airport this evening, four days ahead of their FIFA Confederations Cup premiere against Mexico in the Tatarstan capital.

Mexico's all-time leading goal scorer Javier Hernandez pulled one back for his side with a classic flying-header in the 42nd minute with both teams going into the break 1-1. Portugal didn't look entirely comfortable defending the unorthodox position and Hernandez could have scored three in the last seven minutes of the first half.

Cedric Soares' 86th-minute shot was deflected in, but Hector Moreno snatched a point in the 91st minute. Portugal will play Mexico in the Confederations Cup, Group A soccer match scheduled for Sunday, Ju. Both teams will be looking for the three points after Russian Federation came away with a win against New Zealand in the first game of the competition.

Hector Moreno's stoppage time header for Mexico ensured the points were shared with Portugal.

But personally, it's incredible how he didn't succeed at Arsenal, so maybe this is a sign that Carlitos Vela, with 56 caps and 17 goals for his country, can make another statement on the world stage.

Quaresma's left footed shot in the 16th minute was off target but there was no stopping the revatilised Portuguese when he scored in the 34th minute after receiving a ideal pass from Ronaldo who had pounced on a loose ball.

Two neighbouring Tube lines are to be partly suspended into a second day amid safety concerns of debris falling on to the tracks. Around 70 people are missing, according to Britain's Press Association, and identification of the victims is proving very hard .

Some sloppy passing play was as exciting as things got in the opening period, before the game was lit up following a Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick.

He said: "It was not the result we wanted, the team had the game nearly won and we conceded a goal in the last minutes, but that is football".

The Real Madrid striker, whose club future has been the subject of media speculation after he was accused by Spanish prosecutors of committing tax fraud, which Ronaldo denies, set up Portugal's opener. However, the VAR disallowed the goal for an offside infringement earlier in the move.

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) - Video reviews are not giving Federation Internationale de Football Association a quick solution at the tournament it is using to fast-track the system for the 2018 World Cup. With a team well balanced by coach Fernando Santos, Portugal outscored opponents 28-4 during that streak, with five clean sheets. "We want to show that we are able to win more tournaments".

Ochoa made a great diving save in the 85th to keep young Portugal forward Andre Silva from scoring with a header. Sure, but to have three, and with the third not marking at the back post?
