Girl Suffers Gunshot Wound to Head in St. Paul, 2 Others Hurt

Police are investigating a shooting on St. Paul's North End Monday morning.

Witnesses reported hearing 20 to 30 gunshots.

Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 200 block of Maryland Avenue West for a report of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, they found three victims; a two-year-old with life-threatening injuries and two others, identified as 23-year-old Shawn Vang and 27-year-old Lee Lor, with non-life threatening injuries.

Hassanen's friends alerted local authorities who began searching the area with helicopters and K9 teams. She said the suspect was drunk - another witness also described the suspect as drunk - and "got mad".

The three victims were taken to Regions Hospital, where the two-year-old remains in critical condition.

Police are asking for the public to share if anyone they know is carrying a weapon illegally or recklessly discharging firearms.

Police have brought in several witnesses for questioning and processed the area.
