London protesters demand answers over fire tragedy

There were about 600 people living in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower when fire swept through most of the building in the early hours of 14 June.

Despite its location in the posh inner-London borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Grenfell Tower was comprised of social housing apartments that housed mostly working-class residents and families - tenants who now say that they had voiced concerns about the building's infrastructure long ago, only to have their fears dismissed by management. "They didn't. They left him".

More than 70 people reportedly remain unaccounted for and the area surrounding the tower has been plastered by distraught relatives with pictures of the missing, from grandparents to young children. Residents who survived the tower blaze lost everything and have no idea where they are going to live or how they will get back on their feet.

Police are asking for the public to share if anyone they know is carrying a weapon illegally or recklessly discharging firearms. Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 200 block of Maryland Avenue West for a report of multiple shots fired.

Aluminum composite panels essentially consist of two thin layers of aluminum sandwiched around a lightweight insulating material. One version of the product [has] a polyethylene core, the other version is around a fire-retardant mineral core. She also pointed out that a cheaper, flammable cladding had been used. The anger on the streets of London's North Kensington has been growing since the fire. Churches and community centers are providing meals and support, and donations of clothing, toys and household supplies are flooding in.

Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by grandson Prince William, paid a visit to the Grenfell Tower this morning where the number of missing is estimated to be around 76.

Forensic experts said the fire at Grenfell was so hot it could be compared to a cremation, which is going to make it hard to identify those who lost their lives.

"This was a awful tragedy that took place", she told the BBC.

"We as the police, we investigate criminal offences, I am not sitting here and saying there are criminal offences that have been committed, that's why you do an investigation, to establish it", he said. "Sometimes all that's left is ash".
