Wild to partner with ECHL's Rapid City Rush

Minnesota and Rapid City might be physically separated by 575 miles, but the two cities seem closer than ever with a new partnership between the Wild and Rush.

Today (June 19) the Minnesota Wild announced that they have signed an affiliation agreement with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL. Its parent company, Minnesota Sports & Entertainment, also owns the Iowa Wild franchise in the American Hockey League, the primary development affiliate of the Minnesota Wild based in Des Moines, Iowa. It will enter its 10th anniversary season in South Dakota in a few months. "Rapid City is a terrific hockey market that includes a lot of Minnesota Wild fans that provides our organization with another great opportunity for developing our players".

The Rapid City Rush were affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes from 2015-2017. Led by the local ownership group of Scott Mueller, Barry and Luke Peterson, and Donnie Ward, and managed by General Manager Joe Ferras, the Rush look to continue their tradition of excellence both on the ice and in the community as the team celebrates its 10th anniversary season this upcoming fall.
