Hostage situation underway at Cobb County bank

According to new station WSBT, the suspect, who has identified himself as Brian Easley, 33, said he had a bomb and two hostages.

A man inside Wells Fargo at 2675 Windy Hill Road in Marietta said he has a bomb. He spent almost one hour talking about his life and detailing demands, the news station reported.

"No one inside the bank has been harmed or anyone outside the bank", Cobb police Officer Alicia Chilton told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at 11:45 a.m.

Pierce said the man still was inside, and they were trying to determine what was happening in the building.

On Tuesday, the prices of oil dropped to seven-months low, after news of increase in supply came by several key producers. But a Bloomberg survey found that analysts expect USA stockpiles to fall by 1.2 million barrels in the prior week.

Cobb police say SWAT, a bomb squad and K-9 units are responding to the scene at the bank, located just west of Interstate 75.

He "made general threats", Chilton said.

A nearby Chick-fil-A restaurant was on lockdown because of the situation at the bank, manager Hailey Vines said.

The Cobb County department of transportation said in a brief statement that a stretch of a heavily traveled road in the area was closed due to police activity.
