Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for Rodriguez, but they have set a high asking price for the Colombian and he has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United.

"Signing James Rodriguez was our coach Carlo Ancelotti's biggest wish, following their successful spell working together in Madrid", said Bayern's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The 25-year-old moves to the German champions after three seasons in the Spanish capital, where he never managed to secure a guaranteed starting place.

The 25-year-old Colombia global made 22 La Liga appearances for Real last season, scoring eight goals, and featured six times in the Champions League.

At the end of the loan Bayern have the option to buy James for £31m, potentially bringing the total fee up to £40m.

Wimbledon: Garbine Muguruza reaches semi-finals
The two have played twice , with Rybarikova winning both, including a first-round, straight-set win at the French Open this year. Muguruza had created sensation when she had defeated Angelique Kerber in the last round in the lat round of the tournament.

The Colombian has agreed a temporary move to Bayern Munich to link up with Carlo Ancelotti's side as he bids to hold down some regular playing time ahead of next summer's World Cup in Russian Federation. It's a move that will likely increase his playing time without particularly diminishing his status, as James will stay with a top-five world club.

He should provide plenty of ammunition for Robert Lewandowski - and he'll join a stellar cast of attacking midfield players already in Munich, including Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa.

Of course, injury has been a major factor behind Bale's lack of first team action under Zinedine Zidane this season, but his absence hasn't exactly had any effect on team performances.

"We are very happy that we were able to secure this transfer".

While the Welshman might have been one of their best players in the 2015/16 season, the previous season was a hit and miss since he picked up an injury and didn't even start in the Champions League final. His trophy cabinet includes medals for winning La Liga, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Supercup, the Portuguese league and the UEFA Europa League, among an array of individual awards.
