Rising star Jorge Lendeborg in talks for another big project: He'll play the young male lead in Paramount's Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. Lendeborg Jr. joins Steinfeld as a tomboy that holds a job as a mechanic after school who forms a connection with the lovable fan favorite Autobot. Christina Hodson (Shut In) wrote the script.

The movie project is the first spin-off in what the studio hopes will be a Transformers Cinematic Universe that will include prequels and offshoots from a line of movies that have generated more than $3.7 billion worldwide.

Paramount needs Bumblebee to be a real hit for them as Transformers: The Last Knight - from the same group of writers that came up with the idea for the Bumblebee movie - has tanked pretty bad and is the worst performing Transformers movie ever.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Everything we know so far
Meant to be the 10th anniversary edition of the premium smartphones by the Cupertino giant, iPhone 8 recently ran into trouble. The Galaxy S8 did great at launch, but sales of the device are slowing down at the moment.

The Bumblebee movie has a June 8, 2018 release directed by Travis Knight.

Lendeborg Jr. doesn't have very many credits to his name just yet, though he did appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Jason, Betty Brant's morning show co-host at Midtown High. The actor, who made his feature debut starring in The Land, has also booked roles in Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel and upcoming YA project Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda at Fox 2000.
