He reiterated that Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav will not resign and it had already been decided in party legislators meeting.

JD (U) has made it clear that they will not compromise with corruption and will follow Nitish Kumar's policy of zero tolerance to corruption.

However, JD (U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said there are no talks of any split in the mahagathbandhan. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has spoken to both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the last week. There is no doubt that things have gone from bad to worse in this case and Nitish Kumar is known to take decisions after consultation with his party MLAs. "Tejashwi will not resign at any cost".

"Many ministers who were invited for the event did not attend it". The JD (U) had earlier said that the party was not convinced with Tejashwi Yadav's public statement and wanted him to give an explanation on corruption charges levelled against him.

The crisis in Bihar ruling alliance deepened further on Friday with RJD chief Lalu Prasad rejecting Janata Dal (United)'s demand for the resignation of his son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. "There is no question of his resignation", Lalu said after holding a almost three-hour-long meeting with senior party leaders and legislators at his official residence. "RJD ki or se gatbandhan mein koi aaanch nahi aayega (There will not any problem to the Grand Alliance from the RJD)", he said.

Speaking to ANI, Prasad said, "I don't have anything to say on this issue". "We will reply to the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate whenever they call us", Lalu said in response to JD (U) spokespersons' demand that he and his family give point-by-point reply to the allegations regarding acquisition of benami properties. Mr. Yadav said. He claimed that the CBI had registered the FIR against him in cases from 2004 when he was 14-year-old kid "with no moustache" and had no proper knowledge of scam and corruption.

RJD sources told The Hindu: "Laluji has nurtured this alliance; he had even campaigned strenuously for JD (U) candidates in 2015". Being a minority partner, the question they are agonising over is which side to back if the alliance does break.
