Cubs Acquire Jose Quintana, Trade Jimenez, Cease, and Two other Prospects

In 1973, the Cubs traded nine-time All-Star Ron Santo to the White Sox for a total of four players, including future Cy Young victor and current White Sox broadcaster Steve Stone.

The club has been dangling Quintana on the trade market for months now, so how come nobody took the bait? Now, Hahn likely put out calls to other teams like the Houston Astros before pulling a deal with the Cubs, but it's still relatively early for big moves. Rose and Flete are Single-A infielders.

"We do feel we are closer in achieving our long-term goals today than we were yesterday", Hahn said.

It seemed like Quintana had been having trouble since being named the "ace" of a young White Sox team, and although he has had some nice stretches in that span it's no question that he performed better behind the arm of Chris Sale.

"It's one that allows us to continue to add to the prospect base that we've accumulated in a potentially high impact way". Both teams will be hoping to start the second part on a better note when they kick off a three-game interleague series at Camden Yards Friday night. Perhaps. It was a steep price for Epstein to pay to acquire him from the crosstown Chicago White Sox, but this was a deal worth making on multiple fronts. He has eight home runs and 32 RBIs in 42 games this season, but more importantly, he can do devastating things at the plate ... like break stadium lights.

Jimenez is now BA's No. 5 prospect and most have him pegged as an All-Star in the making. "I think they all understand the business of the game".

It said the injured tourists were rushed to a local hospital but gave no further details and did not provide their nationalities. Hurghada is one of Egypt's tourist hubs, known for its scuba diving, and stretches 25 miles along the country's Red Sea coast.

For the Cubs, it is a desperate move to get back into the thick of a playoff race.

In Quintana, the Cubs are getting a mainstay of the Sox's rotation.

Quintana, who ranked among American League leaders in strikeouts and starts, is 50-54 with a 3.51 ERA and 890 strikeouts in 172 career major league games.

Eloy Jimenez is 6-foot-4, over 200 pounds with lots of muscle. But, if we're going to be playing the devil's advocate, here are some of the issues the Cubs have had so far. He was in his sixth season with the Sox and was the No. 1 starter for them this season.

"We've never been able to get on a roll, and with that comes that edgy kind of feeling", Maddon said on MLB.com "We've underachieved offensively, and our starting pitching hasn't been as good as we thought". They also added a pitcher who figures to be a key piece in the rotation for at least the next few years. Jose Quintana will be staying the Windy City and moving after the Cubs sent a rich prospect package which included Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease, their top two minor leaguers.

About 13 hours after KatyPerrysBootyHole had passed along wetbutt23's information, the deal was announced: Quintana for four prospects. "We reconnected again on Monday via text, and obviously this was a quick process on their side".
