Disney's D23 Expo covers all aspects of its entertainment empire, and today the studio revealed that virtual reality is coming to the Marvel universe.

Sanzaru Games definitely appears to be inspired by the breakthrough The Unspoken VR game that allowed players to use magical powers with their hands. The inclusion of Captain Marvel is particularly interesting as it suggests that heroes not included in the Marvel cinematic universe - at least not yet - might make an appearance in the game. Depending on the character you choose you'll step into a first person experience from different levels of view.

Aside from the allure of Marvel characters themselves, the multiplayer aspect of the game has the potential to help it really stand out.

Interestingly, it also seems like players will have access to special abilities unique to the character they are playing.

D23: Marvel comes to VR with Oculus exclusive Powers United.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the game will be exclusive to the Oculus Rift headset and Touch controllers. Disney is planning on announcing additional characters for the game starting next week at San Diego Comic-Con, with Powers United VR itself targeted for a 2018 release.

Note: Lockjaw was also in the video.
