Several congressional panels and federal investigators are looking into claims that Russian Federation meddled in last year's U.S. election in a bid to help Donald Trump. Federal investigators and congressmen are investigating potential links between the campaign and Russian Federation. He is known to be in Washington, lobbying for Russia's interest in trying to undermine the accusations of a United States lawyer who was jailed in Russian Federation and later died in prison.

Akhmetshin did not know whether the documents were provided by the Russian government. Knowing of his work with Veselnitskaya, Yahoo News had originally reached him by phone in Moscow on Monday, not long after stories about the lawyer's meeting at Trump Tower first broke. He said he had learned about the meeting only that day when Veselnitskaya asked him to attend.

But it appears that whoever said that is incorrect.

"Somebody said that her visa or her passport to come into the country was approved by Attorney General Lynch".

"In fact, we were so busy just trying to keep up with the sun rising and setting on that campaign, that I can't imagine anyone had the time nor the wherewithal to go out there and even do something like this", Mr Caputo said.

"This could be a good issue to expose how the DNC is accepting bad money", Akhmetshin recalled her saying.

The meeting appears to be the most tangible evidence of a connection between Trump's election campaign and Russian Federation, a subject that has prompted investigations by congressional committees and a federal special counsel.

"They couldn't wait for the meeting to end", he added.

The Magnitsky Act reemerged as a front-burner topic this week in connection with the investigations surrounding President Trump's campaign and possible links to Russian meddling in last year's presidential race. Most of it involved allegations against the Magnitsky sanctions, she said.

President Donald Trump's campaign digital director, Brad Parscale, said Friday he will meet with the House Intelligence Committee later this month.

"That is not correct", Akhmetshin said.

Ahkmetshin said he recognized Manafort, as they worked in "adjacent political circles".

Contacted by NBC News, representatives for Kushner and Manafort declined to comment.

Without knowing more about the documents reportedly left in Trump Jr.'s office, it's unclear whether that's actually the case. -Russian citizen. He denies any current ties to Russian spy agencies. When reached by the AP this week, she declined comment.

Akhmetshin himself later confirmed that he was indeed at the meeting.

Trump's son said he had been promised damaging information about his father's opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In response to Goldstone's initial email requesting the meeting and promising incriminating information on Clinton, Trump Jr. responded, "If it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer".

"I. call for the revoking of the security clearance for Jared Kushner".

The Russian government has denied any involvement in or knowledge of the June 2016 meeting. But in recent years, his lobbying work seemed to take on a singular focus: reversing the 2012 Magnitsky Act, a law passed by Barack Obama that infuriated Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, and was created to punish Russia for the 2009 prison death of the Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.

Akhmetshin has been identified in media reports as a former officer in Russia's military intelligence service known as the GRU. He described his time in the military as routine, serving from 1986 to 1988, like "millions of other Soviet boys".

There is lying, and then there is what Fox News's Eric Bolling did when he reversed the facts of the Russian Federation story to claim that it was really Hillary Clinton who was colluding with Russian Federation to get dirt on Trump.
