Police in New Hampshire continue investigating the death of a 12-year-old-girl who was hit and killed by a powerboat driven by her father on Newfound Lake Monday morning.

The accident was reported at 8:30 a.m.

According to New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol, the girl had been water skiing on the lake in front of the Hillside Inn while family members watched from the towing boat. Her father drove the boat back toward her, but he became briefly distracted, and the boat passed over her at a slow speed, officials said.

Macron says Trump may reverse U.S. pullout from Paris climate accord
Trump so eloquently put it, she should be allowed to wear whatever she wants as long as it makes her feel good. Dubbed by some as "the battle of the Alphas", Trump and Macron again shared some uncomfortably long greetings.

Police are not releasing the name of the girl or her father at this time.

She was immediately transported to shore. CPR was initiated, but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Bridgewater police and fire and Bristol fire all responded to the scene.
