ACC preseason poll: Florida State No. 1, Clemson No. 2

Florida State was the overwhelming pick to win the ACC championship this season, receiving 117 votes.

Florida State is predicted to break a 2-year hiatus and win its first ACC title since 2017.

On Monday, the ACC announced the results of a preseason poll from the conference's Kickoff event last week, which ran Thursday and Friday in Charlotte.

Miami was the favorite to win the Coastal Division with 103 first-place votes, followed by Virginia Tech with 40. Defending national champion Clemson followed with 37 first-place votes and 1,007 points while Louisville received nine first-place votes and checked in with 843 total points.

Clemson was picked behind the Seminoles in the division, followed by Louisville, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Syracuse and Boston College.

Reigning Heisman Trophy victor Lamar Jackson was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason player of the year and Louisville was picked to finish third in the conference's Atlantic Division, the league announced Monday.

Louisville was third with seven votes, while Virginia Tech and Miami totaled three each and Duke had one. He is the youngest player to ever win the Heisman, and with the Cardinals, will host Clemson on September 16.

When it came to individuals, FSU quarterback Deondre Francois received the second most votes to win ACC Player of the Year with 23. Clemson defensive end Christian Wilkins was third in the voting for that award.
