The two phones include super thin bezels and precise edges, however, there are a few viewpoints about Essential's gadget we lean toward over LG's gadget.

According to The Financial Times, Andy Rubin's company has already held talks with United Kingdom operators for the Essential Phone launch.

Meanwhile, after Essential missed its initial shipping window a few weeks, ago, Niccolo de Masi, chief operating officer of the company, stated that the phone's release in the U.S. is "imminent". Essential missed that window for whatever reason, but its ambition to challenge Samsung and Apple is stronger than ever, it seems. It was announced later on that Sprint will be the device's exclusive carrier in the USA, while TELUS will sell the device in Canada.

Andy Rubin is working with telecommunications companies around the world to launch the Essential Phone in the United Kingdom, other Western European countries, as well as Japan.

The Financial Times claims that Andy Rubin is already working with telecommunications companies around the world to launch the Essential Phone in the United Kingdom, other Western European countries, as well as Japan. In other news, the company is reportedly in talks with British carriers on a United Kingdom launch. Unfortunately, there is still no specific date provided that buyers can hold on to. It has a price tag of $699, while adding the 360-degree camera accessory will now set you back an extra $50 (down from $199).

Brian Wallace joined Essential in December to head up marketing.

"Consumer choice has declined due to Samsung and Apple", said de Masi, before accusing the industry's biggest names of "[slowing] the pace of innovation to boost quarterly profits".

The Essential Phone is still expected to launch in Canada at the end of this summer, and de Masi says the United States launch is "imminent". While there are fans out there who are disappointed by the slight delay, it looks like the wait will be over soon enough. Essential will most likely resort to exclusive partnerships with carriers around the world to gain access to mainstream distribution networks. This combined with the for-tech-enthusiasts approach could become Essential's core identity but also its downfall.
