Mets GM: Tebow unlikely to get September call-up

Point being, Tim Tebow is getting better at baseball.

Tebow has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games for the Mets High-A ball minor league affiliate at Port St. Lucie.

Tebow now is hitting.321 since his promotion to St. Lucie and he extended his hitting streak to 12 games by going 1-for-4 on Friday night.

The former QB is hitting.326 at the moment with the St. Lucie Mets, and this evening he produced his most sanctified highlight of his career when he smacked a walk-off dinger.

Tebow hit three home runs for his first stop this year, and looks like he's actually improving as he goes through his time with his new team.

"It was fun to celebrate with all the guys".

Turner homers, Dodgers win 9th straight by beating Miami 3-2
The victor of that one game would meet Houston in one Divisional Round while the Red Sox would meet Cleveland in the other. Left-hander Rich Hill will be up for task for the Dodgers on Sunday against the Marlins.

"[The high school homer] was for the district championship", Tebow told the press. Interestingly, all three of his home runs for St. Lucie have gone to the opposite field, which is pretty impressive. I'm just thankful to get that opportunity.

Alderson's assessment shouldn't come as a shock, especially because Tebow is still playing with the team's advanced-Single-A team.

The Mets are seven games below.500 and sitting in fourth place (out of five) in the National League East standings. Alfredo Rodriguez had a pair of doubles and an RBI during the first two frames, while Luis Gonzalez belted a two-run shot to left.

Still, as much as some may want to dismiss the success Tebow is having with the St. Lucie Mets, you really can't.

This is baseball, anything can happen.
