Suspect charged with killing store owner in robbery

The store's owner was shot to death during an armed robbery.

Christopher Sheffield, 24, was arrested at 4 a.m. after detectives were told he may have been hiding in an apartment complex.

Sheffield was charged with First-Degree Murder, Robbery with a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Felony Possession of a Firearm.

On arrival, the Tampa PD discovered Mohanoud Ibrahim, 60, an employee at the 29th Street Store, had been shot and killed during the robbery attempt. Tampa police said they talked with witnesses and reviewed video from the store and quickly identified Sheffield as a possible suspect.
