Team Africa outclassed 108-97 by Team World

Victor Oladipo showed out at the 2017 NBA Africa Game today in Johannesburg, South Africa with 28 points, nine rebounds and five assists to earn MVP honors as Team World beat Team Africa, 108-97.

For Team World, Kyle Lowry led the way with 18 points, Courtney Lee had 13, Kristaps Porzingis 12 and DeMarcus Cousins almost missed a double-double with nine points and 10 boards.

Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown lead the way for the World team with 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Team Africa consisted of no NBA All-Stars, but players that are of African descent.

Neither team shot from downtown particularly well, as Team World connected on 27.5 percent of their three-pointers and Team Africa hit at a rate of 22.5 percent.

While Team World were shaky on offense at times, blowing possession and botching easy layups, they managed to keep Team Africa at bay to seal the win.

Today's game gave fans in Johannesburg a look at some of the league's top players from around the world ahead of the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season. Two of Team World's big men each finished with double-doubles as Andre Drummond had 14 points and 13 rebounds, while DeMarcus Cousins had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
