Senator Gringo Honasan voluntarily turned himself in Friday morning and was subsequently arrested by the Laguna cops at their headquarters here but immediately posted the Php 60,000 bail for the two counts of graft case at the Sandiganbayan.

After his mugshot, finger prints and buccal swab, they then proceeded to the sala of Biñan Regional Trial Court Branch 25 Judge Teodoro Solis to post bail of P60,000 for the 2 counts of graft, which stemmed from alleged irregularities in the disbursement of P30 million from his pork barrel funds in 2012.

Based on the Office of the Ombudsman's record, a total of P30 million of Honasan's PDAF was released by the Department of Budget and Management in April 2012 to NCMF as the implementing agency for the senator's livelihood projects for Filipino Muslims in Metro Manila and Zambales. He was detained at PNP, City of Binan.

In a resolution issued August 7, the Sandiganbayan found sufficient probable cause to put Honasan on trial and ordered his arrest for violating Section 3 (e) of Republic Act No. 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act along with nine others.

"Finding the same to be in order, the bond is hereby approved".

He was met by Police Regional Office (PRO4A)-Calabarzon Regional Director Chief Superintendent Ma.

THE Sandiganbayan has ordered the arrest of Senator Gregorio Honasan, who is facing graft charges in connection with the alleged anomalous use of his P30-million Priority Development Assistance Funds in 2012.

Poor men sufffer in love and in the wallet
In contrast, men from poorer backgrounds not only have lower earnings, but they're also twice as likely to be single. These figures were featured in a newly published report from the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).

The court set the arraignment of Honasan and all his co-accused on September 22.

"I am completely innocent of the charges against me", he said in a statement.

Honasan maintained his innocence saying: "All my life I have fought everything I am accused of, and I will continue to do so".

A former rebel, Honasan has been implicated in several coup attempts against the administrations of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the late Corazon Aquino. He lost the polls, placing last.

Honasan is the fourth senator to be charged for alleged role in pork barrel fund scam first exposed in 2013.

Senator Juan Ponce Enrile was also jailed but the Supreme Court allowed him to post bail because of his old age and frail health.
