Seventeen-year-old Phil Foden has been fast-tracked to the Manchester City first team by Pep Guardiola. "They lived outside the centre, while I am staying in the city".

March believes that the high transfer fees are a reflection of the quality in the league but says Brighton are not intimidated by bigger teams or anxious by the general consensus that they will be relegated after just one season.

Guardiola, a former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager, has yet to win a trophy since taking charge of City at the start of last season.

Defenders Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker and Danilo have all arrived at the Etihad Stadium along with goalkeeper Ederson and midfielder Bernardo Silva to take City's expenditure to £217 million ($281 million, 238 million euros).

Both were pivotal to their respective teams' retention and distribution of the ball last season, as well as their goals. The midfielder is the embodiment of Pep Guardiola and his footballing philosophy.

Pep Guardiola has made a number of signings during his time as the Manchester City boss, and has been busy this summer as well, making improvements to his squad.

Brighton could find it hard to match England's best sides and we definitely expect in-form Manchester City to win the game at Amex.

Coutinho submits transfer request
In a statement on Friday, the club's owners said its "definitive stance" was that "no offers will be considered". In the press conference, Klopp was asked about trying to keep Coutinho happy.

Brighton, who returned the top tier after a 34-year absence by finishing second in the Championship, last hosted City in a 2008 League Cup tie.

"We didn't have full-backs and you have to buy full-backs", the Spaniard added. I congratulated him and said that I'm very happy for him, that Stoke isn't that far away and that we can see each other.

The decision was made in July, before City had played the majority of their pre-season friendlies.

"I think he's close to coming back", Guardiola said.

Goal revealed earlier in August that Sancho had already said goodbye to his youth-team colleagues, who were left under the impression that he would join Borussia Dortmund.

Four of those new players cost more than £40m but that pales into insignificance compared to the €222m (£197m) Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar.

Guardiola, who for the first time in his career ended last season without a medal, has spent more than £200m on players this summer.
