Chelsea had two players sent off and lost 3-2 to Burnley as it started its English Premier League title defense on Saturday.

Chelsea did their best to launch a positive response, but the Blues were struggling, and Burnley incredibly doubled their lead in the 39th minute when Stephen Ward broke into the home side's box before finding the top corner with a stunning strike.

Alvaro Morata is up and running for Chelsea.

Antonio Conte was facing a full-blown crisis on Saturday night after his Chelsea side were embarrassed by Burnley's shock 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Morata made the flawless impact as he pulled a goal back for Chelsea in the 68th minute as he headed home Willian's cross.

Wales worldwide Sam Vokes scored two of the goals and Stephen Ward the other.

"I am not anxious because we have to trust in our work and today there were three injured players, Pedro, Hazard, Bakayoko, one player missed for a ban in Moses".

It is only one game, yet the parallels with Chelsea's last defence of a Premier League title two seasons ago under Jose Mourinho were uncanny.

"We have to improve a lot on this because after the first red for Cahill we lost our composure and conceded three".

Conte paused and thought long and hard when asked about referee Craig Pawson's decisions, then said: "I think that the coach can make mistakes, the players can make mistakes, the referee".

"It's the set up from the manager", Carragher told Sky Sports.

Former Chelsea winger Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma during the close season, won a penalty converted by Roberto Firmino in the 55th minute and then bundled in the Brazilian's lofted pass from close range. "I am ready to fight with these players". "I wanted to win here, not to send a message".

Yet with with the likes of John Terry, Nemanja Matic and potentially Diego Costa all leaving the club this summer, on top of fringe players such as Nathan Ake, Asmir Begovic and Nathaniel Chalobah, Blues boss Conte is short of strength in depth, which has become increasingly noticeable over the past week.

Drinkwater has made 218 appearances for Leicester in his six years with the club, scoring 14 goals and winning the Premier League and the Championship during his time in the East Midlands.

Debutant Ahmed Hegazi's first-half header earned West Bromwich Albion a 1-0 win over Bournemouth, while Mauricio Pellegrino's tenure as Southampton manager began with a 0-0 draw at home to Swansea City.
