Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind are likely to fill in for Shaw at left-back in his absence, although manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that the England worldwide could be back in action next month.

Moreover, Marcos Rojo was picked ahead of Shaw at left-back despite being fully fit for the second half of the previous season, and the youngster managed to make just 11 league appearances.

Rose has been frequently linked with the Red Devils this summer, and he recently stated that he is ready to listen to offers.

That escalated the speculation linking him with United and dragged Shaw into the equation, but his agent Jonathan Barnett says there is no chance of him leaving. The Portuguese tactician had earlier said he was hopeful that Shaw could be back in action in September.

The mayor of Charlottesville said via Twitter on Saturday that he is "heartbroken" to announce that a "life has been lost". The city has become ground zero for white nationalist and other protesters, who faces larger counter-rallies in the past.

Shaw is now injured but has been repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenham after a hard season under Jose Mourinho.

"Luke Shaw is going to be one of the best left-backs in the world. Manchester United love him and Luke Shaw loves Manchester United", Barnett told the International Business Times.

United have spent £145million this summer on Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic but Mourinho remains keen to strengthen his squad.
