Norlela's "Thank you, MACC", which was posted on her Facebook, came right after state executive councillor on environment, welfare and caring society Phee Boon Poh was arrested by the anti-graft commission for alleged abuse of power on Friday.

The Star Online said judge Hashim Hamzah told the lawyers the applications should be made in Penang.

Phee was represented by lawyer Ramkarpal Singh while the other two were represented by Dev Kumaraendran.

He said statements from both Lim and Norlela were needed as they had released statements with regards to the operation of the illegal factory.

"We will be at the Penang High Court to file the same application to ask that the remand order be set aside and to release Phee and the two others", he added.

Phee, who is also Sungai Puyu assemblyman, was escorted by MACC officers into a vehicle at about noon to his service centre in Jalan Ong Yi How here.

Yesterday, the magistrate's court granted a five-day remand order against Phee and a father and son duo to facilitate a probe into an illegal carbon filter factory in Sungai Lembu, Bukit Mertajam.

On Thursday, MACC officers seized documents related to the Kampung Sungai Lembu factory from the Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP).

Phee's office on the 53rd floor of Komtar was also raided by MACC officers.

The MACC and several enforcement agencies also raided the factory Thursday, following complaints from villagers who feared fumes from the factory could affect their health. The factory was also allegedly operating illegally on agriculture land.

The commission had conducted a joint raid on the factory yesterday, together with officers from the Department of Environment and Immigration Department.
