Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill was taken to the hospital as a precaution after being hit in the throat by a pitch in Friday's 4-3 loss to the San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers erased the deficit in the bottom sixth as Corey Seager plated three runs with a bases-loaded single.

One inning later, Cody Bellinger added a much-needed insurance run with his 34 long ball of the season.

Not only that, but he stayed in the game to pitch, going 6 innings and giving up just 2 runs.

The Dodgers struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Padres tied the game in the top of the third thanks to an RBI double by Hunter Renfroe.

It was also the 16th home run allowed by Ryu in 2017, his single season career high.

With two outs in the fifth, Wil Myers launched a solo shot to right center to give the Padres a 3-1 lead.

Ryu had been 4-1 with a 2.19 ERA in his six previous starts against the Padres, with 36 strikeouts in 37 innings.

Closer Kenley Jansen threw a scoreless ninth to preserve the 6-3 win.
