White House: Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron on growing North Korea's threat

Ellison, the Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, initially made the comment at a panel during the left-wing activist gathering Netroots Nation in Atlanta, Georgia.

During an appearance at the Netroots Nation conference in Atlanta Friday, Ellison addressed the recent exchange of inflammatory rhetoric between Trump and North Korea, saying North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was acting more responsibly than the US president.

He says days of grave threats to the communist country's leader, Kim Jong Un, would be welcomed as "a great statement" if "somebody else" uttered them.

In a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, he urged both sides to avoid words or actions that could worsen the situation. "Well, he's acting more responsible than this guy is".

Pentagon officials told Fox News on Friday that the U.S. military stands ready to "fight tonight" on the Korean Peninsula, as President Trump said the U.S.is "locked and loaded" and retweeted images from U.S. Pacific Command showing B-1B Lancer bombers on Guam.
