Jack Wilshere is claimed to have called time on his stay as an Arsenal player, with an exit speculated to be on the cards.

Wilshere, meanwhile could be more affordable with the 25-year-old entering the final year of his contract in north London alongside being told he can go after an injury ravaged few years. Things were not plain sailing from there however, with a number of long-term injuries having stunted his progression, with many believing he would be the next big star to break through at Arsenal.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has reportedly stepped up his bid to bring Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to the club before the end of this summer's transfer window.

Arsene Wenger has admitted there is now "too much competition" at the Emirates in the forward positions following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, and that Perez will be allowed to leave the club before the window closes.

Arsenal are demanding £20m for squad player Lucas Perez, with Premier League new boys Newcastle and Brighton supposedly two interested parties.

Arsenal appear to be willing to allow both to leave for the right price, but it still seems a shame to lose Wilshere after all we have done for him.

Should we have tried to include Wilshere this term?
