Badgers to play Notre Dame at Lambeau Field in 2020

The Chicago Tribune reports the long-anticipated official announcement will come Monday in Chicago.

The Badgers played at Lambeau Field in 2016, beating LSU at the home of the Packers, 16-14. The two teams will then meet again the following year in 2021 - this time at Soldier Field in Chicago, home of the Bears.

Both teams have recent history in National Football League stadiums.

The last matchup between these programs occurred in 1964, when Notre Dame downed Wisconsin 31-7.

It's the first game for the former San Diego franchise since they announced their move to Los Angeles in January. Offensive lineman Russell Okung, who played for Seattlefrom 2010-2015 joined the Cahargers during the offseason.

The Badgers football team is coming back to Lambeau Field in 2020 to host Notre Dame. The Irish hold an 8-6-2 edge in the all-time series.

Wisconsin's Athletic Director Barry Alvarez, Notre Dame's Vice President Jack Swarbrick and Athletic Director James E. Rohr, Mike Kelly of the Chicago Park District and Packer's President and CEO Mark Murphy will all be in attendance. The Irish will also face the likes of Northwestern and Ohio State over the next several years.

"It was neat for our players playing in Lambeau", Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst said during the Big Ten meetings, per Potrykus.
