I'm Not The Angry Racist They See In That Photo

White nationalists led a torch march through the University of Virginia Friday night.

One of the first to be identified on Saturday - a 20-year-old college student named Peter Cvjetanovic - told the Channel 2 news station in Reno, Nevada that he "not expect the photo to be shared as much as it was".

It's only been one day since the tragic events of the White Nationalist Rally in Virginia have unfolded.

"I've been using this account to call out racists on Twitter in real life for almost five years, so when all of these photos started popping up from the torch rally Friday night and the alt-right march on Saturday, I figured it was only natural that I would continue to call them out", the man who runs the account, who declined to share his name, told BuzzFeed News. However I do believe that the replacement of the statue will be the slow replacement of white heritage within the United States and the people who fought and defended and built their homeland.

"I came to this march for the message that white European culture has a right to be here just like every other culture", he said. We all deserve a future for our children and for our culture. "It is not ideal; there are flaws to it, of course". Robert E Lee is a great example of that. "But I hope that the people sharing the photo are willing to listen that I'm not the angry racist they see in that photo". Also, if you don't want your picture being spread around like this, may I suggest wearing a hood next time? "I have friends who went to Charlottesville to counter-protest the Nazis, and once I saw the news of the auto incident it was very worrying until I was able to get in touch with them and confirm they were safe". Or is he admitting that he is in fact racist but just isn't angry? "White nationalists aren't all hateful; we just want to preserve what we have".
