Search continues for missing diver in Donegal

A major search operation for a diver who went missing off the coast of Co Donegal has resumed.

Loughswilly Lifeboat is being assisted by Rescue 118, Portrush Lifeboat and a number of local boats.

The man was reported missing at about 16:00 BST on Saturday.

Due to the suspected serious nature of the injuries, Rescue 118 was dispatched from its Sligo base to airlift the casualty to hospital.

Search efforts were stood down for the night and resumed on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team and Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team are searching for a missing walker in the Derryveagh Mountains.

RTÉ reports that it was parked at Lough Barra on the western outskirts of Glenveagh National Park.
