Warehouse fire sends huge plume of smoke over Glasgow

Crews were called to the property in Blochairn Road, Royston, at 3.44am on Thursday.

More than 40 firefighters are now battling to control the fire in a warehouse that makes up part of the market, with 12 engines and three aerial apparatus on the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue service was alerted to the fire at 3.44am on Thursday morning.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are now tackling a large fire within a warehouse in Blochairn Road".

"A joint investigation between police and fire services will be carried out to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident".
