In a separate attack in July, hackers claim to have stolen large files from the HBO servers - including internal emails, show scripts and unaired episodes of multiple shows.

HBO Europe said it had "learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO Espana platforms".

It added: "The error appears to have originated with a third party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognised". The episode was not supposed to be aired till another 5 days. The full episode is reportedly available on torrent.

Emmy Award-winning Game of Thrones, which has a huge following in South Asia, is distributed in India by Star India, a subsidiary of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.

Prime Focus Technologies said the leak "was not a system hack, but an illegal breach of obligations".

HBO says it is investigating another hack after the entertainment giant's Twitter and Facebook accounts were compromised Wednesday night. The biggest threat of hackers seems to be dumping videos of future shows online with their logo "HBO Is Falling" superimposed.

Hackers have released data including personal information for actors.

In a bid to contain further leaks from a group of hackers, HBO reportedly offered to pay $250,000 to the hackers who stole almost 1.5TB data, including scripts of "Game of Thrones" (GoT) and other employee information, from the TV network. That record will be broken with the 81-minute season seven finale airing August 27, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The news comes just days after four people in India were arrested in connection with leaking another episode of the popular show.

HBO accidentally leaked the episode all on its own.
